Georgia A. Hill is an ordained minister and serves as the associate pastor of Plymouth United Church of Christ. Rev. Dr. Hill’s interest in literacy intensified after serving as a commissioner for the Detroit Public Library. She now serves as the chair of the Detroit Literacy Council which is comprised of literacy providers; civic and community organizations and interested individuals in the Metropolitan Detroit area. Rev. Dr. Hill is a member of the Harper, Hutzel Karmanos ethics committee and is an adjunct faculty member of Wayne State University. Prior to ministry, Hill practiced civil and criminal law in Wayne, Oakland and Macomb counties and worked for several years as chief of staff to former Detroit City Councilman Nicholas Hood III. Hill is a graduate of Harvard-Radcliffe College, Howard University School of Law and McCormick Theological Seminary, and resides in the city of Detroit.
